India is a country known for its rich culture, heritage, arts, history, traditions and spices. Every year a large number of Adventure Enthusiast, tourists and vacationers visit various adventure destinations across India. With diversity found in every area, each region is unique in its own way. However, the country more than merely culture, history and heritage; it offers of a number of popular destinations for adventure sports such as camping, trekking, snow skiing, scuba diving, mountain biking, river rafting, etc. There are a number of adventure-related areas in the country for adventure sports and Eco-tourism.

Leh Ladakh Adventure

Leh & Ladakh: Located in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh is one of the destinations for adventure enthusiast. With the largest town and capital of Ladakh being Leh, it is the entry point to India’s far northern region of India. Also known as ‘Little Tibet’, this area is popular for its Buddhist culture. One of the best spots for trekking, Ladakh offers a number of great trek routes, lively people and beautiful monasteries. With the Himalayan mountain on one side and the Karakoram Range on the other, you can also find the world’s highest motor able road located here: Khardung La. Some of the popular trekking trails include Markha Valley from Spituk and from Likir to Temisgam. You can also book mountain climbing trips to peaks such as Goleb, Stok, Matho West and Kangyatse in the Zanskar mountains. Andaman & Nicobar Islands: A number of thrilling adventure sports can be found on the Andaman and Nicobar islands. One of the prime destinations for adventure sports, the region is popular for a number of water sports such as scuba diving, snorkeling and swimming. The lush green hills of the islands offer perfect scenic places for beautiful treks. Kashmir

Gulmarg: Located in Jammu & Kashmir, this hill station is known for being the heart of winter sports by CNN. Boasting of being the highest ski slope in the world, Gulmarg which is nestled within the Himalayas is one of the most popular skiing destinations. Well-known for housing Asia’s popular heli-skiing resort, skiing in Gulmarg has grown in popularity due to the popular Gandola Cable Car Lift. While the best time to visit is in December, the season continues till mid April. Besides this a number of other activities such as golfing, mountain biking, water skiing, horse rising and fishing are also popular.

Paragliding in Manali - Adventure Enthusiast

Manali: A popular hill station located in the mountains of the Himalayas, Manali is a popular destination for adventure enthusiast. Having a soothing backdrop of the Himalayas, the town has a blend of both tranquility and with adventure in northern India. From paragliding, fishing, white water rafting, mountaineering to hiking you have it all for the adventure enthusiast. There are also adventure tours such as Himalayan Journeys, North Face Adventure tours, etc. The best time to visit is late March-October.
