I Never Expected This Experiential Trip to Ladakh To Be This Beautiful

There is something about road trips. And if that road trip is a bike trip to Ladakh, the whole experience is something else altogether. After a lot of thinking, checking, cross-checking and short-listing we decided to opt for a biking tour package with Thomas Cook. This was the best decision ever. Honestly, road trips are fun, but they are not without their share of issues. Thankfully for us, Thomas Cook made this whole trip a fun, exciting, memorable and a total cakewalk.

We opted for a 7 nights 8 days package. We were excited as well as nervous when we got on our flight to Leh. The excitement of the adventure took over the nervousness. As we neared Leh, the bird’s eye view literally left us jaw-dropped. The light fluffy clouds, the blue skies and those snow-capped mountains left us speechless.

As we landed in Leh, the lovely team at Thomas Cook welcomed us warmly. They gave us details about the trip and the planned itinerary. All the planning was meticulously done, the hotel bookings, food and every single detail were duly taken care of.  The bikes were allotted, and instructions are given, we put on our helmets to ride away on an adventure we would cherish forever.

We drove through Leh, stopping by at some popular tourist spots. We paid our respects at the Ladakh Hall of Fame and then visited the Pathar Sahib Gurudwara and stopped by to pose and pout at the Zanskar and Indus confluence. The next spot we visited was a natural wonder, the Magnetic Hill and the experience was exhilarating. The Diskit monastery was extremely peaceful and also gave us the most beautiful view of the charming Nubra valley.

Our next trip to Khardung-La, the world’s highest motorable pass left us amazed. We rode on some tough roads and also took time to explore locally. When in Ladakh if you don’t visit the Pangong Lake and take that mandatory picture of the lake in the backdrop, your trip is incomplete. We did just that, got into the feisty touristy mode at Pangong Lake and took a lot of pictures. The blue skies during the day make you, wow but the night skies with millions of twinkling stars is a beauty that cannot be described in words.

All in all, this was one trip that will be etched in our memories forever. We cannot thank Thomas Cook enough for their fantastic service that helped us tick one more wish on our bucket list.
